Volvo is proud to announce that the XC40 and XC60 have won four honours in the 2019 Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year Competition.
The XC60 showed “outstanding performance” in terms of acceleration, braking and stability when towing a caravan, as well as perfect poise and minimal body roll when towing both at high speeds and on twisty routes. “It also gave one of the most comfortable rides of the entire competition – all in all an ideal car for caravanners,” the judges said.
The accolades are great news for caravanners, as the XC60’s success adds to its impressive list of awards and achievements since being launched last year, including the UK and the World Car of the Year 2018 titles, and the safest car to be tested by the independent safety organisation Euro NCAP in 2017.
Where the XC40 was concerned, the judges were unanimous in announcing “towing just got cooler”, acknowledging the impressive design quality of the latest addition to Volvo’s premium SUV line-up.
Sue Cleveland, Sales Manager at Waterhouse Volvo, said: “It’s great to see the XC40 and XC60 models being recognised for their variety of uses. The Caravan and Motorhome Club always ensure its awards programme reflects the real-world priorities of people who need a towcar, so the cars can be genuinely trusted to do the job, as well as being safe, well equipped and cost effective to run. The XC40 and XC60 have performed incredibly well in awards ceremonies, emphasising how they provide such a strong combination of practicality, versatility and genuine customer appeal.”
